♪ We love Riding in the Car! ♬

an adventure

Abby again! I just wanted to say that I forgave Kristin for paying attention to her favorite tv show over me. I forgive her because yesterday we went on another adventure!

We all had to be away from the house yesterday for 3 hours, so during that time we ran a few errands. We've never ridden in the car for that long before... well, together anyway... and Mom and Kristin said that we were very good.

Even though Izzy was a little bossy and getting on everyone's nerves. She just wouldn't calm down.

Oh! We also got to go to McDonald's again. It was too early to order a Junior Cheeseburger or Happy Meal, so this time we got an egg, cheese and bacon biscuit. I'd never had one before. Just like Kristin, I don't really like the egg but I love everything else about it! It was sooo goood! All of us enjoyed it.

Except for Wendy Kitty. The cat didn't care to even try. She just wanted to sit in Kristin's lap and look out the window at cars and people.

After we ate breakfast and ran errands like getting more dog food, we went to the back of the neighborhood to the Splash Pad. Wendy Kitty had to be in her crate, so we just sat down at a picnic table and walked nearby.

And that was when I found that big stick to play with! Kristin and Mom say it isn't really a stick, but a tree branch.

I love tree branches the best!

Once Upon An Ignored Dog

bday2012

A new episode of Kristin's favorite television show, Once Upon A Time, comes on tonight so while she's watching it I'll be looking like I do in the picture above.

Don't you think I look very sad?

Sunday nights aren't fair. I'm a lot cuter than that pirate Kristin likes on there so much. I hope that tonight The Crocodile eats him once and for all!

Let Your Dogs Do Whatever They Want

This is Izzy again, and I decided that me and my sisters should speak our minds about some things. Blogs are good for that kind of thing. I'll go first.

izzysmile_200

1). Mommy doesn't always let me go out to the front yard with her, and when she goes out the garage door I get so excited at the thought of riding in the car and going to McDonald's for a cheeseburger. The sad thing is that we don't go to McDonald's every day. I want to to go through the McDonald's drive thru everyday, but Mommy says that wouldn't be healthy.

Whatever that is.

She says it's for my own good, but I can't see the harm in being happy eating a cheeseburger every day. Mommy drinks coffee every day, and that makes her happy, so how come coffee is okay but not a cheeseburger?

Humans sure think some strange things.

Well, that's my only grievance. The next one will be from Abby.

2). Hi! I'm Abby. Izzy said there isn't much use to having a blog without speaking your mind about important doggy issues, so here I go.

Kristin won't let me hunt down lizards when I see one in the backyard. All week I've been seeing them, and all week Kristin says "No, Abby! No!"

I just ignore her, so she always ends up carrying me back inside the house. We only stay for a few minutes, because she thinks going inside for a little bit will distract me from my hunt, but that's just silly because even now - after a full night's sleep - I'm STILL thinking about those lizards.

Kristin says I'm too sweet and cuddly to be a lizard killer. Usually, I would agree with her but hunting is just in my nature. (That's what Maddie told me).

Okay, I guess that's it. Maddie will write her grievance next. Bye!

PS - This post was all Izzy's idea, and I still love you Kristin.

3). Hello to my readers! Like Abby said, this is me typing now. Maddie Kate, that is. I'm the eldest furkid.

Well, I don't have any grievances except to say that I don't trust the cat. (This entire post was Izzy's idea). That's all. I love you!

Let's go on an Adventure!

adventure_polaroids

This is me typing. Izzy. It's me typing, but my sisters are looking over my shoulder and helping. They say they're being helpful, but I think they're just being nosey. They're afraid I'll tattle on them about something. I really am an excellent tattler!

Our house has been on the market for a week, so I think Kristin and Mommy are really tired. They have to keep the house clean, and when people come to see the house we all have to leave for an adventure.

Which we LOVE because when someone comes over we get to go walking, and most times we even get a cheeseburger from McDonald's.

Even though Kristin was tired and all, she still took a lot of photos and video of our car and walking adventures. Unfortunately, we've only had 3 adventures total. Kristin says it's because their real estate agent is a four-lettered word, but that's all I know about that. She won't tell me which word she's talking about, but I don't think it's a good one.

But we had two showings of the house that first day, so that meant we got to have two adventures and we got to share two cheeseburgers! We furkids wish our house was on the market more often, because that day was so much fun!

Wendy the cat isn't amused though. She doesn't like riding in the car, but on that second day she did really well. On that first day it was actually cold for a change, so Wendy had to stay in the car while we went walking nearby. (While inside the car, Abby kept checking on Wendy, to make sure she was okay. Abby was worried about the cat because she kept meowing).

But that second night Wendy Kitty got to sit outside with us, in her crate, and she didn't cry once. She watched some kids playing on the playground.

I sat in Mommy's lap a lot (I'm also an excellent lap dog), Maddie just found a comfy spot and soaked in the surroundings like she always does, and Abby was really excited. She couldn't keep still and kept eating every leaf she saw. Abby loves being outside.

Oh! My family thinks this is funny, so I think I'll share it here on my blog. I've never had a blog before, so I guess this is okay. When we were outside near the neighborhood's pool, because that person was looking at our house, at one point Kristin took Maddie walking for a bit. When they headed back to where the rest of the family was, Maddie saw a little dog. In an instant she started barking and barking and barking at that dog, and she quickened her pace to reach it sooner and it was barking right back at her. When Maddie finally got there, everyone was laughing because guess what!!!! The dog Maddie was barking so mean at was just me. It wasn't a strange dog at all, but me... her own little sister!

I think she felt a little silly when she realized that, but it made our family laugh. Maddie likes it when her humans are happy, so she decided that her mistake was a good thing. She told me that she might even do it again sometime.

And guess what else! I was so excited at the drive-thru, that I winked at the camera. (Maddie taught me that).

This is me, after we got home. Aren't I cute and fluffy? Kristin says I'm cute for a reason, but I really don't know what that means.

rain

The night before our first adventure, we had some scary weather! I like to boss around the thunder, and even hurricanes, but Maddie doesn't like thunder so she wasn't happy at all. (Abby didn't care one way or the other. She has no opinions on thunderstorms). It was lightning for hours and hours and hours, and then really late that night is rained so hard and so loud.

Here are some videos of it that we found of the storm, although at our house it happened at night-time... which made it so much scarier for my big sister.

Well, Kristin says I have to stop talking now. Even though I'm little, my paws are a little too big for this keyboard so Kristin has been helping me type all this time.

Rub-a-dub-dub a little dog in the tub

400bath_bp

Did you know that if you dig a hole in the yard you'll have to have a bath afterwards?

Well I didn't know that, but I do now. Kristin got bored, watching me playing with a new stick, so she sat and filmed the bluebirds feeding their babies. After just 5 minutes of that, she thought I was being awfully quiet so she turned around to check on me.

That was when she saw what I was up to. We got some rain last night, so some of the ground was still muddy so technically it isn't my fault that my feet and legs and chest and tummy and mouth got so dirty.

Kristin wasn't mad. She just said my name a lot. She also laughed, and I smiled and wagged my tail when she showed Mom what I had been doing, but once Kristin put me in the tub I wasn't smiling anymore. I was scared and not happy, but thank goodness my bath was over in just a couple minutes and once we were back downstairs I begged to go outside again.

I acted cute and everything, but it didn't work. Kristin didn't think a wet dog and the outdoors a good combination, so she made me wait a while before going back out.

beforeafter_470

We did go back out once I was dry, but I didn't get to have as much fun like I wanted because she wouldn't let me go near the mud hole I'd just dug up at all.

Scary bath aside, it was still a good day! And just so everyone knows.... that hole would have been a lot more impressive if Kristin had just let me finish all my fun, hard work. Maybe next time she'll let me.

I Love Shoes!

boots470_ribbet

Hello to you all! My name is Maddie Kate Scarlett O'Hara, but you can just call me "Maddie." This is my very first post on me and my sisters' new blog!

I've never typed in a blog before, so this is all very exciting to me. It's been an exciting week, too! Our house is on the market, so we've been having a lot of adventures outside and in the car. Me and my sisters are working on a post about all that, but for now I just wanted to post a picture that Kristin took yesterday.

It's the picture at the top of this post. See those cowboy boots? Those boots belong to Dad, and I love them! Actually, I like all of Dad's shoes but his boots are my favorite. Kristin says it's gross, but I really love how warm his boots are after he takes them off from working outside. Sometimes I stick my face inside them, but I have to try to be discreet because like I said... Kristin thinks it's gross but I think she just doesn't think like a dog.

Which isn't her fault, seeing how she's a human girl. I can't understand it, but she prefers the scent of roses over Daddy's boots. Daddy's boots are smelly, but in a good way! They smell like freshly cut grass, but Kristin doesn't believe me and she's scared to sniff them herself.

Well, that's all. Bye!

Bath Day

nadir-quinto

~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~

abby100 Hi! I'm Abby! Me, Maddie and Izzy all got baths yesterday morning. We don't like baths, but when you're a dog you don't have much choice in the matter. Once you see the towels and shampoo come out before hearing your name being called, there isn't any way out.

And do you see that illustration up above? Why is that little boy smiling when he's in the bath tub? Why is that dog bathing him? Am I supposed to give my humans baths, too? If the answer is yes, I don't think I could do it. I'm scared of the water. It's noisy!

After our baths, Kristin did more packing. While she was cleaning out the kitchen cabinets, our neighbor's came over. Mom and our neighbors sat outside in the backyard to visit. I was so happy that I got to go out there, too! I love it outside. It's my favorite place in the world! I think about it all the time and dream about it all the time. Kristin says I'm obsessed, but I think it's just love.

After Kristin finished packing everything in the kitchen and upstairs linen closet, she kept her promise and we played outside in the backyard. It was a lot of fun. Playing outside is always fun!

I've never been to Disney World, but Kristin says that the outdoors is my own personal Disney World Park. Maybe one day I'll get to see this Disney World for myself. Kristin says there are a lot of people there, so I don't think it'd be a good idea for Izzy to go with us. She would bark at everyone, although Izzy would just say she was being sassy. I also don't think Maddie at Disney is a good idea, because she likes to herd people like she's a bossy sheep dog. She even herds me and Izzy whenever we wrestle. She likes doing that.

Kristin said that Disney World has a fairy godmother, princes and princesses. Animals, too! There's a really popular mouse and his mouse girlfriend, and then two dogs and a duck and a bear that likes honey and an Eeyore and a T-I-double guh-Urrrr.

What that is I don't know, but Kristin says I pounce just like him!

Well, that was my adventure yesterday. Today is a holiday named Easter. The Easter Bunny hides colored eggs and gives you candy. I don't know about the candy, but finding those eggs sounds like fun because he hides them outside! He hides them inside bushes and behind flowers and on fence posts. Doesn't that sound like fun?! Maybe one day dogs will start celebrating Easter, too.

EASTER

Even though today was a holiday, we didn't really do anything. Kristin sat outside with me for a while, but then we had to go inside because we got a loud thunderstorm.

I'm not scared of thunderstorms. I wanted to go outside and play in it, but Kristin said it wasn't a good idea. I don't know why it wasn't a good idea though, because it sure sounded like a good idea to me. The lizards and birds and bees were still out there, so I don't see why I couldn't be out there with them too.

Maddie is really scared of thunder, so she didn't want to go outside. She just hid behind Mom's legs in the kitchen and whined a little. And even though she was afraid, she was still smiling. Unless she's sleepy, Maddie is always smiling.

Izzy is like me in that she isn't afraid of thunder. (Izzy isn't afraid of anything). She was really bossy, telling the storm to go away (so that I could go outside I guess), but the storm didn't listen.
